It's amazing! He makes me feel soooo lazy! His smile is so magical, you can see the joy he now has for life, so inspiring! So I was chatting on the telephone with my best friend, Amanda, who loves to run and has starting practicing for triathlons (wow!), about us doing a run together, like the Turkey Trot, because it doesn't have a high registration cost. Some runs have a high fees to cover their costs, however, I'm not too interested in times at this point yet, so if I'm not clocked, I won't be too sad!
So, as I was on a break from work today, instead of driving home, I meandered around my town a bit and noticed a poster in a local business for the annual Terry Fox Run that is coming up. If you're Canadian, I know you know all about this. If you're not Canadian, read all about the INCREDIBLE life and story of Terry Fox on terryfox.org. I just checked out their website, and it has an easy registration form, with no fees, so I signed up! Just like that! I haven't ran in a 'race', whether competitive or not, since High School! I'm very excited, as I ran competitively for eight years in school, but since graduating, then doing post-secondary school, then having Layla, etc... life hasn't had much time for even a jog for the heck of it, nevermind training and signing up for runs! But I'm jazzed, this will be fun and a great way to get my feet wet again and also for a fantastic organization!
Also, if anyone would like to sponsor me, even if only a dollar, on the website you can look me up by name (hint: I'm the only Malora registered! Is that a surprise? No!) or my participant code, which is C2W8GZ.
Wish me luck!
