Maybe I'm just really early for tomorrow...

I've been pondering for the last... well... quite a few weeks really, but at where do I draw the line between nocturnal restlessness and insomnia.  I do sleep, albeit, not very well.  However, I do find myself putting a lot of the weight of that problem on my little girl, who still likes to crawl in with mommy most nights!  Not only her coming, hogging 3/4 of my bed, sticking a knee or elbow in my back.  No, that's not enough!  The little girl also brings our dear cat, Tom-Tom, with her!  So, if it's not her poking my back, it's him!  Or I get a fluffy tail in the face!

I can't win.  Either way, I'm still up very late, and most likely will be very tired tomorrow.
Good night (I hope!)

MALORA

Well, this is me!  I thought I'd make a little post all about me!  And believe me, as a mom, this is surprisingly hard to do.  I'm one of those moms that is just so crazy about their awesome kid that I have a single-tracked mind when it comes to her.  This entire blog would be a montage to Layla!  So, I'm forcing myself to think about me, if even just for a few minutes!

FAVE COLOUR: Blue.
FAVE BOOK: This is hard, I love to read... I actually really enjoy a lot of teen literature.  I find a lot of 'adult' books try too hard to be deep, thought provoking or edgy.  Teen lit is a good length for a develop story and the good ones still capture imagination, innocence, complexities, all while remembering the point of telling a story is storytelling.  Some books that have stayed with me over the years are "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett and "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.
FAVE FOOD: Mmm, I love ethnic food!  Almost any kind!  I love trying new flavours and taste experiences!  I also have a soft spot for really well made pastries!
FAVE MUSIC: I'm very non-commital with music.  Music can set, change or enhance a mood or feeling. That's more what I use it for.
FAVE MOVIE: The original 1954 'Sabrina' movie, with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden.  Ahh, it makes me sigh dreamily just thinking about it... People think it's funny that my second favourite movie of all time is the 1993 Mel Brooks genius: 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights'!  This movie is exactly my sense of humour.  Love it!
FAVE HOBBIES: I often take on more than I can chew, I've got so many hobbies!  But the one thing that is constantly on my mind, no matter what I'm doing, is travel.  There's so much to see and do and experience!  I know I'm not as experienced as many other people, but it is my passion none the less.

Blogging in the Bathtub

I'm really excited about a new intention I've been saying recently.  I'm surprised so far by the power of it and that it is really helping me feel more energetic and optimistic in all aspects of life.  I got the idea of the saying during my dear friend Jendie's wedding (who is now a 'Jenelle?') just a few months ago.  Her mother was talking about a shirt that she used to wear with a saying on it that really summed up our Jendie's fantastic outlook on life.  Props to her, I've stole it and made it my own, and this is it:

Today is the best day of my life, and tomorrow's going to be even better!

It's not exactly what Jendie's shirt said, but this is what has been speaking to me.  I've been putting it into action and am already noticing dramatic results!  Even if I haven't been able to get a full, restful sleep (what mom does?), I've been able to wake up refreshed, excited and maintain energy throughout the day.  I've found myself more creative and better able to follow through on projects (this is a big one for me!).

I've been enjoying the good vibrations from this intention, but I've also been happily putting it into action!  For instance, today really is feeling like the best day of my life!  I've been able to wake up before my alarm (wow!), put in a full (ten hour!) day at work, sit outside in the sunshine with my favourite seven year old client, enjoy many fantastic regular clients and really connect with them, send texts back and forth with a couple of my most favourite people in the world, wear capris and sandals (hooray!), come home and still had energy and excitement to go for my first run of the year (25 minutes, it's a start!), and now, to top it all off, I'm sitting in my very own home, in my very own bathroom, satisfied with a good full day of work, some physical exercise, and now some creative output, all while enjoying my newly working wireless internet in a Body Shop Satsuma bubble bath!  And it's only 7:30 pm!  I've still got the whole evening to continue to add to the best day of my life!

I am so excited for tomorrow to be even better!
